After you’ve finished your swim or workout, sit back and relax in the warmth of our steam sauna. Regular visits to a steam sauna have been proven to purify your body by relieving stress, releasing tension, and relaxing your muscles, leaving you mentally and physically refreshed. Our luxurious sauna has benches for lying or sitting, with room for up to 6 people.
The sauna room is located within the pool building to enable you to take a swim and sauna at your leisure - work the body and relax the soul whilst enjoying your holiday at Combrew!
Ease yourself into the day with a blissful dip in our Hydrotherapy Pool.
Heated to a soothing 36°C, the warm water of our indoor hydrotherapy pool will help to stimulate circulation, relax your muscles and soothe away your stress, leaving you ready to enjoy the day ahead. For your comfort, the swimming pool building is fitted with underfloor heating, so that you don’t experience the shock of a cold floor upon climbing out of the warm water!
Take a brisk swim at one end of the pool, before letting the bubbling water give you a relaxing hydrotherapy massage at the other. The effects of bubbling water are incomparable for maintaining shape, promoting blood circulation, and re-oxygenating skin cells, as well as for relieving tension, fatigue, rheumatism, and arthritis. For a more challenging workout, work your muscles by swimming against the high-powered jets muscles – it’s like taking on the Channel!

If you’re a fitness enthusiast, or just want to keep active whilst you’re on holiday, you can enjoy an invigorating workout in our gym and fitness room. We have recently enlarged and upgraded are gym and fitness room and added new state of the art 'Life Fitness' equipment to enable you to get the very best from your workout - perfect for keeping you fit and active during your holiday!
Facilities in our gym and fitness room include: a cross trainer, treadmill, exercise bike, and a multi-gym with weights. We also have a water resistance rowing machine - the ‘E520 Evolution FluidRower’. This machine has been called “the world’s finest ergometer” because it accurately emulates the natural catch and resistance experienced on the water. Come and try it for yourself; it’ll add an exciting new feature to your workout!
After your workout, why not take a dip in the pool, or soothe your muscles in the sauna?
Enjoy a game of tennis on our outside court and play badminton or short tennis on our indoor court.
Here at Combrew, we have fitness facilities to keep the whole family active. Our outdoor tennis court has recently been resurfaced and is a great space for the whole family to have fun in the fresh air.

Both courts are regularly maintained and are a perfect addition to all of other wonderful leisure facilities - just one of the reasons so many return year after year for a holiday at Combrew!

Our indoor games room is always a big hit with kids and ‘big kids’ alike! With a pool table, table tennis and air hockey tables and a dart board to keep you busy, it’s the ideal place to spend a rainy afternoon, or unwind at the end of the day.
A fun outdoor adventure play area with climbing frames and trampolines
Let the children tire themselves out in our wonderful adventure play area. With several large trampolines, swings, slides and climbing frames toddlers to teens can all have fun and nearby is our pets corner - home to friendly rabbits, Guinea pigs, goats and free range hens that lay the fresh eggs which will be in your cottage upon arrival.
The play area sits next to our fields where cows or sheep contentedly graze ( depending upon the time of year ) giving young ones a real taste of life on the farm.
Head to the Tarka Trail and explore the beautiful North Devon on two wheels
North Devon’s famous Tarka Trail stretches 30 miles from Braunton to Meeth, and enjoys beautiful views of the coast and countryside. The trail uses old railway lines and so is fairly flat throughout, meaning that the whole family can come along for the ride. In fact, the Tarka Trail is a wonderful place for teaching your children how to ride a bike! You will see reminders of the track’s history at various points along the route, including old signage, decommissioned trains, and disused railway stations.
You can pick up the trail just minutes from Combrew - many of our guests take day trips to Instow Beach, or head to Fremington Quay Café for lunch. We have bikes and safety helmets available for guests meaning your ride can start right from your cottage - many of our regulars like to cycle down to Fremington Quay Cafe for breakfast, the cafe is just where you join the Tarka Trail.

Feel like doing nothing much at all? Combrew is the perfect place to do that, too. Surrounded by North Devon’s peaceful countryside, why not start the day with a gentle ramble through the fields, say hello to the chickens, and listen to the birds sing?

Our information room is packed full of leaflets and brochures containing information about a wide variety of local attractions. If you’re unfamiliar with the area, then a visit to the information room will soon have you planning a day out to somewhere exciting!
Borrow a book - we have a wide variety - to read during your stay, often on holiday is the only time we get to read - we have cook books here too should you be planning on preparing a culinary masterpiece for family or friends during your stay!
There is also a computer with free internet access for researching attractions, planning routes, or simply checking your emails.
Combrew, with it's central location, is ideally situated if you are considering a car free holiday. What better way to relax and unwind than to leave the car at home. Holiday at Combrew and this really is an option worth considering. Catch the train to nearby Barnstaple, via Exeter, and we will collect you from the station at Barnstaple. Whilst at Combrew getting around is easy with the frequent regular bus service, in both directions, available just 250 yards away at the end of our lane. Weekly or daily bus tickets are available allowing you to easily travel all over North Devon, or for that special occasion there are many taxis on hand. All your holiday requirements, including food, drink and other requisites can be pre ordered, follow the link from our facilities section, and delivered direct to your cottage in readiness for your arrival.
