Barnstaple, Europe's prettiest floral town and repeated winner of the Britain in Bloom award, is just a short drive away. The town is the commercial centre for the region and combines sophisticated shopping with the bustling atmosphere of traditional Pannier and Craft markets. 6 miles away you will find the historic port of Bideford, which has a good selection of pubs serving local ales. From here you can make the ferry trip across to the picturesque island of Lundy

Only half a mile away, you can access the level, traffic free Tarka Trail. A 180 mile dedicated walking and cycling route, which offers fabulous views of the North Devon countryside. From here you can hire a bike and there is a cafe/restaurant.
