Combrew Farm - Frequently Asked Questions

We’ve put together a list of some of the most frequently asked questions about our cottages and facilities. If you can’t find the information that you’re looking for here on the website, please do not hesitate to get in touch; we always aim to respond to customer enquiries as soon as possible.

Q. What does the tariff include?

A. Our tariffs are inclusive of VAT, gas, electric, logs for the wood burner, linen, towels and a welcome pack.

Q. We are planning a special family get together, how many guests do your cottages sleep in total and are they located close together?

A. Our cottages are often booked together and are wonderful for special anniversaries, birthdays and family celebrations. When all cottages are booked together, the site sleeps 29, however, we have guest beds available for a couple of extra small children, as well as cots for babies. The cottages are all on the same site, however, they each enjoy their own privacy.

Q. Can we bring our pet with us to Combrew?

A. Up to 2 pets are welcome for a small extra charge in Rose Cottage, Barn Owl and Tuckers Retreat, however, we do not allow pets in The Roundhouse and Courtyard Cottage. North Devon is a wonderful place to go on holiday with your dogs at any time of year. There are lots of dog friendly beaches, cafes, and pubs nearby.

Q. How do I book a cottage?

A. We have a secure online booking system on our website, however you are most welcome to call us on 01271 373834 at any time to book over the phone. Occasionally, there may be an answering machine, please do leave a message and we will get straight back to you.

Q. What payment is required on booking and how can I pay?

A. A deposit of one third is required at the time of booking. The balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival. Bookings made in advance for the following year require an initial deposit of just £100 to secure your chosen week. Payment is welcome by debit or credit card, for which there is no extra charge, or if you prefer, you can send a cheque.

Q. Do you allow smoking in your cottages?

A. All our cottages are strictly non-smoking.

Q. Do you have ample parking available?

A. We have plenty of parking available and under cover storage for guests bringing bikes.

Q. Are internet and Wi-Fi available?

A. We have a computer available for guests to use in the information room. Free Wi-Fi is available is available across the site.

Q. Do you have recycling facilities?

A. We do our best to promote a sustainable environment and encourage guests to use the extensive recycling facilities provided on-site.

Q. What can I do at Combrew in cold or wet weather?

A. All our cottages are fully centrally heated, double glazed, and have wood burners. This makes them ideal for a holiday any time of year, whatever the weather. We also have an unrivalled range of on-site leisure facilities which are open all year round, including: a superb indoor hydrotherapy pool (heated to 36 degrees), sauna, gym and fitness room, indoor badminton court, games room, computer/information room, and hard tennis court.

Q. Are there local farm shops and supermarkets nearby and do they offer a delivery service?

A. We always like to recommend www.localfarmbox.co.uk – a local company who offer a wide range of fresh fruit, vegetables, meat and much more, all of which can be pre ordered and delivered direct to your cottage. There is also a superb farm shop, ‘Orchards’, at St. John's Garden Centre near Barnstaple which offers a quality range of fresh organic and non-organic local produce. The nearby Sainsbury’s and Tesco offer a home delivery service.

Q. Are you well located for North Devon's wonderful beaches and many other attractions?

A. Yes, we are central for all that North Devon has to offer. The nearest sandy beach, Instow, is just 3 miles away and there are many more just a short drive away, including: Saunton, Croyde, Putsborough, Woolacombe and Westward Ho!

The Tarka Trail, a dedicated cycle and walking track, can be accessed less than a mile away at Fremington Quay.

Q. Do you have a wide range of restaurants and pubs available locally to cater for all tastes and budgets?

A. Yes, North Devon is blessed with some fantastic restaurants and pubs! Whether you’re looking for gourmet fine dining, oriental cuisine, pub food, or good old fashioned fish and chips, you’re sure to be spoilt for choice.
